I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing Carmen and Thom's wedding this past Saturday. What a beautiful couple, and such a warm and loving family! Northeast Ohio suffered the rainiest April on record this year, and although the weather could have gone either way by the looks of the clouds, the rain held off, thank goodness! Here are some of the photos of their day:
Carmen gets ready with the help of her sweetheart of a flower girl...
Carmen's sister holds her hand while she get's veiled - it's not as easy as you think!
Putting on the finishing touch just before she walks down the aisle...
Dad kisses Carmen before turning her over to Thom. Carmen's mom looks on with love and pride...
Tom places the ring on Carmen's finger...
and she tears up - I love the exchange of looks here - pure love....
This Catholic ceremony included a veil and coin tradition - it was beautiful...
Carmen kisses her dad during the sign of peace...
I really want to know what this little boy said to Carmen to make her laugh :-)
Directly after the ceremony, Carmen does a little happy dance!
They exit to family and friends and bubbles....
And a wide shot including family and friends -- each face happy and expressive :-) Oh...and P.S., Carmen's sister was her matron of honor. She also happens to be a professional photographer. (She's the one snapping away on her camera). She is a wonderful person and a great help in gathering the family for formal photos!
The ceremony and formal photos ran long, so by the time we arrived at the Sheraton Suites in Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, it was, according to the timeline, already to leave. We took 20 minutes to capture the "between ceremony and reception" shots. The gorgeous view made it easy. I've never been to the Sheraton for photos before, but I will certainly go back if given the opportunity. Not only do I love the falls and the rushing water, the reflection off the glass building added an interesting impact.
The bridal party...
The bridal party...
Carmen and Thom ...
Carmen's sister held it together for most of her toast...all but for a moment...and here it is...
I absolutely love caketops - each caketop seems to give you an idea of the synergy of the bride and groom. This captures Carmen and Thom perfectly - happy, playful and very much in love...
so I used the caketop for their ring shots...
The bouquets were stunning and so well put together...
And the reception begins...
Carmen and Thom's first dance...
Apparently Carmen and her siblings break out in dance a lot! :-) They did a special fun dance and now that Thom is part of the family, he joined in!
This wedding was so much fun - lots of smiles - lots of love. I feel honored to have had the privilege to photograph their day!
