Kera and Craig - 7/18/09

For the second Saturday in a row, the day started out with ominous clouds and rain, but as luck would have it, it did clear up in plenty of time for Kera and Craig's wedding! It was a beautiful day to be married. :-) Have a look at the pictures ...

I love it when I'm asked to take pictures of the bride getting ready - for one thing, it adds a nice dimension to the photos for the day, but also so that the groom can see all he missed on the morning of :-).

teasing and primping

some photos from Kera's house just before leaving for the Gardens

The only mishap of the day was the missing guitarist who got into a car accident on the way to the wedding (he's okay!). A very touching moment happened, though, that made for what I think will be a wonderful memory for Kera and Craig. As she was walking up the aisle, the guests began humming the bridal march. Honestly, nothing could have sounded more beautiful at that moment.

We took advantage of the beautiful landscaping at Fellows Riverside Gardens, located at the Mill Creek Metroparks in Youngstown.

a veil portrait

Gorgeous rings and beautiful decorations at the party center

I wonder if she managed to get all those people in the shot?

I loved the lighting int he bar, which made every photo taken in there feel like a Norman Rockwell painting.

Chasing Tornados

Last week I posted some photos of Shawn - an aspiring model. His little brother, Maliek, came along for some photos as well...thus the title ;-) Cute as a button with all the energy of a whirlwind. Have a look...

Tara and Jordan's Wedding - July 11

The day started out with rolling thunderstorms and rain so heavy that visibility on the roads was practically zero...but I had faith that these boomers would pass through and that they did! The day ended up being a beautiful - and a perfect day for a wedding.

What can I say about Tara and Jordan? Tara is exuberant, joyful, silly, happy, caring, sensitive ... and gorgeous. Jordan is a true gentleman with a good soul and a warm heart. I had such a wonderful time capturing the moments of their day.

Their wedding had a vintage theme - Tara's hair and makeup were gorgeous. I can imagine this moment taking place back in the 40's.

Tara at the window - all dressed and ready to go downstairs...

Tara and Jordan decided to have their group pictures taken before the ceremony. This gave us a lot of time for some awesome captures that run the gamut from playful to artistic.

Tara sends the men to the doghouse...

The first set of group pictures were taken at Tara's mom's...a gorgeous seven-acre property...

All I can do when I see this picture is smile :-) I had Tara climb up on a small cement riser because I liked the background. When she got up there, she started goofing around and kept everyone laughing :-)

Gorgeous everything....

Since the theme of this wedding had a vintage flair, I brought my old Agfa Captain camera as a prop for this picture...

Ostrich feathers are way cool...so are their rings...

Tara made the bouquets herself and they were beautiful!

Some bridal party hijinx...

Just before the ceremony....

At this point, Jordan tells me that Tara had her turned up toward the sky because she was trying not to cry. He had his face turned up...looking at the clouds and willing it not to rain...

Tara lost her battle to contain her tears...

They practiced this dip for their kiss....and it was perfecto!

The last dance of the night - they donned Micky Mouse bride and groom head attire - this thrilled the guests - as they danced to "Young at Heart" by Frank Sinatra. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
