Leah and Dave - 8-22-09

Leah and Dave had a very beautiful and very traditional wedding ceremony at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Lorain. The church was large and gorgeous -- and filled from front to back with family and friends of the bride and groom. It was pure pleasure to photograph the day's events, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the hair salon, through to the end of the reception.

I'm sitting her thinking of how to describe the happiness which is Dave and Leah. They were a photographer's dream because they are so open and embracing. They laughed a lot with each other and with everyone else. Their love was tangible - that's the only way to describe it. The evidence was in their eyes and in their smiles.

A true Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers Entrance!

There is an old polish tradition regarding cowbells at the reception - The "official" ringing of the bell began with the mothers of the bride and groom - at which time, they kissed. Now, cowbells beat pinging of the glasses hands down -- and they were ringing all night long! Even Leah took a turn at it!

Usually, the girl who catches the bouquet and the guy who catches the garter "re-enact" the garter process in reverse (he puts it up her leg). This was a funny twist - they blindfolded the gentleman who caught the garter and replaced the girl with the best man! :-) It was too funny.
Lots of love...

Okay...so they played a Michael Jackson song -- and for the life of me I can't remember which one it was. This was completely impromptu, but played out like a movie. All of a sudden, the floor opened up - the other dancers surrounded Dave and Leah giving them plenty of room. Dave popped up his collar and they did a little dance/acting. Did I say that they were a photographer's dream? I did...and they are!
